Deputy President Dr. William Ruto has said his government will employ five million youth, should he win the presidency during next Tuesday’s General Election.
The DP was campaigning at Kabarnet showground in Kabarnet town Monday, where he assured jobless youth in the county and country at large that his government would create enough employment opportunities for them.
“We have a martial plan to empower youth who have certificates, diplomas and degrees in order to gain meaningful employment and provide for their families,” Ruto said.
He explained that his government will set aside Sh200 billion every year to develop the jua Kali sector by setting up manufacturing, textile, leather, agro-processing and housing industries that will create job opportunities for many Kenyans.
The DP highlighted to the residents that farmers will also get subsidized farm inputs so as to end hunger crisis that is a major challenge in the county.
On insecurity, the DP has confirmed to Baringo residents that his government will deploy more police officers to deal with the cattle rustlers in Baringo South and parts of Baringo North.
Ruto has also told residents that his administration will set aside Sh50 billion every year to enable Kenyans to borrow without any form of security and return with no interest to enable them sustain their businesses provided that they belong to a sacco or group for accountability purposes.
On health, the DP has said the rates of National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) will be reduced from the current sh.500 to sh. 300 in order to ensure affordability and those who cannot afford will be paid for by his government.
The DP has assured residents that the August 9 General elections will be peaceful and urged them to vote for Kenya kwanza team to steer development.
The DP was accompanied by Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetang’ula, Ndindi Nyoro Kimani Ichungwa, Charles Njagua and various Baringo aspirants vying on UDA ticket.
