Residents of Lukusi village, Sango Sub-Location, Likuyani Sub-County woke up to a rude shock after the body of a middle aged man was found dangling on a tree inside Nzoia forest.
Mr. Evans Isandula, the deceased young brother, said Emmanuel Shikoli left home on Saturday at around 7:15pm, but never returned before his body was discovered in the forest.
He said after eating supper, the deceased moved round his brothers’ houses asking for forgiveness in case he had wronged any of them saying he wanted to leave and go seek a job that will enable him to construct his own house and marry.
“After asking for forgiveness he took his bicycle and left, leaving the family in surprise since no one had wronged him,” said Isandula.
Confirming the incident, Kongoni location Chief Peter Ligano said the late Shikoli’s body was later discovered by herdsmen inside the forest who later informed the family.
“I suspect he committed suicide by hanging himself using his shirt,” said Isandula, adding that the reason behind his brother’s heinous act has not been established.
The body was removed from the scene by officers from Turbo police station and taken to Kimbilio mortuary in the neighbouring Uasin Gishu County as they launched investigations into the incident.
