The office of the National Mufti of the Republic of Kenya has declared its allegiance to President William Ruto urging all the Muslims in the country to follow suit.
The clergy under the leadership of the Grand Mufti Sheikh Omar Buya said that Ruto has great plans for the Muslim community being a spiritual man himself.
Buya said that they will stand with the president and be part of the government fully for the betterment of the country.
“We are congratulating Ruto as the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya and therefore urge all Kenyans Muslims to support him as we have seen that he has good plans for us all,” he said.
He further commended the good start of the government citing the return of the port operations to Mombasa, appointment of six judges and police autonomy fund establishment noting that it has shown a good new journey for the people of Kenya.
Buya also made a request to meet the President saying there are issues raised by Muslims from different countries through the office of the Mufti, and they need his attention.
“He is a religious leader as he kept his promise of ensuring the port operations are returned to Mombasa. We are hopeful that all Kenyans including Muslims will be incorporated in his government,” he added.
On his part Hassan Hamisi, Mufti Mombasa said that they are happy for getting the opportunity as Muslim leadership of giving a congratulations message to his Excellency.
Hamisi said that politics is over and it’s now time to get together and work.
