Sh500,000 equipment stolen from Nyamira South children’s office

An unknown number of people broke into the Children’s office in Nyamira South Sub-County, Nyamira County, in the wee hours of Thursday morning and made away with office equipment valued at Sh500,000.

The area Sub-County Children’s Officer, Bill Adera said when he reported on duty as usual at around 8am, he found that his office had been broken into and office equipment stolen.

While confirming the incident, Nyamira South Sub County Police Commander, Moses Kirong’ said the thieves gained entry into the office through the window after cutting the grills.

Kirong’ noted that one laptop, three desktop computers, and a Safaricom router were stolen during the incident as reported by the Children’s Officer.

“The missing items included an HP laptop valued at Sh155,904, three HP desktop computers valued at Sh107,800 each and a Safaricom router valued at Sh60,000,” he pointed out.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers in Nyamira South are investigating the matter.
