Farmers in Kiambu County have been advised to prepare their farm as they wait for the seasonal rains, expected to start in the fourth week of October to the first week of November 2022.
Residents have also been advised to harvest water during rainy seasons.
The Kiambu Director of Meteorological services, Magdalene Gateri, while giving the county weekly forecast said that in the last one week, a few areas especially high grounds, received occasional rain showers.
She noted that in the next one week cold and cloudy conditions are expected with occasional light rains mostly over high ground areas. Sunny intervals are also expected in most places in Kiambu County.
The Director said that intermittent cloudiness at times accompanied by light rains is expected during mornings in the region.
“Areas like Gatundu North and Gatundu South are likely to experience foggy and cloudy conditions and occasional light showers in the mornings, while the nights will be partly cloudy,” she said.
According to Gateri, the maximum temperatures that will be experienced is 27°C, while the minimum is 13°C.
“Thika, Juja and Ruiru will generally have sunny intervals in the mornings and afternoons and the temperatures will go as high as 27°C. The nights in these areas will be partly cloudy,” she added.
