Embu FKF urges Government to invest in sports to create employment

Embu County Football Kenya Federation chairman Charles Njage says talent has enabled many youth get employed and underscored the huge potential for more employment if only the government can reinvest in the sector.

Njage who praised President Dr. William Ruto for nominating Ababu Namwamba as Sports Cabinet Secretary, said Kenya has huge potential in sports that has not been harnessed well by the Government and urged Ababu Namwamba to reconsider empowering the sports sector.

He said that Namwamba is up to the task and understands how the Government is expected to relate well with International bodies like FIFA and called on the CS nominee to work closely with International bodies for FIFA to lift the ban on Kenya.

He said that the nominated CS is conversant with talent and sports development and expressed his confidence that the youthful CS will deliver.

Njage called on the Government to elevate the status of Embu stadiums to International levels by upgrading them.

The FKF Embu chairman also called on the Football Kenya Federation to support the Government’s sports initiatives so that Kenyan sports rise to International standards.

He further called on the FKF to work in unity as a team both at the national and at the county level.

He also called on the County Government of Embu to support youth sporting talents at the ward levels.

“Talents pays a lot and I want to request the National Government and the County Governments to nurture sports talent at both the ward, constituency and national levels,”

The FKF Embu chairman also expressed his confidence in FKF president Nick Mwendwa adding that he will be able to deliver.
