Residents of Usenge sub-location in Bondo sub-county woke up to a rude shock Thursday morning when the body of a middle aged man was found hanging in one of the classrooms at Rapogi primary school.
The body of the man whose identity was not immediately known was discovered by the school watchman at around 4.00 am.
According to the area Assistant Chief Mr. Manasseh Osuri, the night guard was doing patrols when he spotted the body that was dangling from the roof of the classroom with a rope round his neck.
The Chief said that the night guard raised an alarm then police came and removed the body at around 6.30 am to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary to await postmortem.
Osuri told KNA that the reason behind the man’s decision to take away his life has not yet been established, adding that investigations into the matter have already begun.
He stated that the man was suspected to have been one of the local fishermen and therefore called on anybody who might have lost a relative under unclear circumstances to go and check at the Bondo mortuary to help in identification.
