Bungoma leaders now want individuals responsible for the woes facing Nzoia Sugar Company to be prosecuted.
Speaking on Saturday in Webuye during the burial of Professor Paul Nasokho of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, leaders in the County led by Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula stressed that all who were involved in corrupt activities at the company must be made to account for the mess.
“Those who were involved in the looting of the company must be brought to book,” Wetangula averred.
Wetangula said the government plans to revive all industries that were run down by the previous boards of management.
The Speaker revealed that Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi is scheduled to tour the factory this week to assess the current situation of the limping sugar firm.
Webuye West Member of Parliament Dan Wanyama told the gathering that President William Ruto’s government has plans to pay cane farmers arrears owed by the company.
