Nyandarua Assembly re-advertises Clerk’s post

The Nyandarua County Assembly Service Board (CASB) has called for fresh applications to fill the position of the Assembly’s Clerk, ignoring the earlier announcement in April, this year.

Speaker Stephen Waiganjo’s led team, called for fresh application, requiring applicants in the earlier advertisement by its predecessor, to reapply.

“This is to inform applicants who had applied for the position that the November advertisement precedes the earlier one (for April) and interested applicants are required to apply afresh,” said the Wednesday advertisement signed by the acting assembly clerk Mukiri Muchiri.

The Board on Wednesday this week got a boost after the assembly approved Emma Mwihaki Kibiro, a former employee of National Museum of Kenya and Fr Paul Mwangi Wanjora, a Catholic Priest-cum-advocate, as external members.

The April advertisement was made by the then CASB, led by Speaker Ndegwa Wahome, which was involved in legal tussle with a group of MCAs who tried to oust its members, accusing them of nepotism.

The board had shortlisted successful applicants and was about to conduct interviews when the process was stopped through a court order after a resident of the County went to court claiming the process was being hurried by people who had partisan interests.

Muchiri has been holding the clerk’s post in acting capacity since 2020 when Nderi Ndiani left to become legal adviser to former Water CS Sicily Kariuki.
