Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Vice President Doris Petra presided over the FKF National Super League (NSL) pre-season PET training closing ceremony on Wednesday at Kasarani Stadium.
The PET training exercise saw 170 referees drawn from the second-tier league taken through endurance and agility drills to test their physical ability as well as medical tests to ascertain their fitness to officiate the league matches.
A statement from FKF indicates that they were also taken through football integrity classes where they were urged to resist match manipulation attempts and report any suspected incidents to the Federation’s Integrity Department for investigation and disciplinary action.
FKF Head of Technical Department Michael Amenga also walked them through coaching accreditation regulations.
Up next are the FKF Division One League referees who will begin their PET training between November 28, and November 30, 2022.
The PET training was spearheaded by Margaret Omondi, Stephen Oduor, Tabitha Wanjiru, Moses Osani, and Damaris Kimani.
At the same time, the Football Federation met with officials from clubs taking part in the top tier FKF Women Premier League (WPL) ahead of the kick-off of the 2022/23 season.
FKF General Secretary and CEO Barry Otieno and Head of Leagues and Competitions Doreen Nabwire briefed club officials on the preparations for the start of the WPL in December 2022.
The officials were implored to formalize all their transfers on the Kenya Connect Player Registration System, in line with the World Governing Body FIFA’s requirements on player transfers before the registration deadline on Friday, December 2, 2022.
Notably, the club officials were urged to ensure the integrity of the game which would help attract sponsors for the league. This includes resisting match manipulation attempts and reporting any suspected incidents to the Federation’s Integrity Department for investigation and disciplinary action.

Also gracing the event were FKF NEC member Anthony Makau, FKF NEC Women Representative Margaret Omondi, FKF Nairobi West chairman Caleb Malweyi, FKF Kakamega chairman Allan Muhando, FKF Kericho Chairman Alfred Kirui among others.
