CS Information Assures Migori Residents of More Relief Food and Improved Economy

Information, Communications and The Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary (CS), Eliudi Owalo, has assured residents of Migori County that President William Ruto’s government will only engage seriously on politics to boost the economy of Kenyans.

Mr Owalo said that the current government will not be swayed in any way to take the route of playing rhetoric village politics that have no place for development, but would be keen to improve the lives of all Kenyans regardless of their political inclination.

“What we are currently doing is to see that our farmers are supplied with subsidised seeds and fertilisers, ensure that our fishing activities and marketing are improved and small and big industries revived for the sake of improving the people’s income and nothing else,” he explained.

The CS noted that anybody out to sabotage efforts of the Kenya Kwanza government of promoting the lives of Kenyans through holding onto politics of tag of wars would be going against the people’s wish of seeing a better country.

Owalo made the remarks while launching the Third Phase of relief food distribution at GotKwer trading centre in Suna West Sub County, Migori County today.

The Region has been supplied with several tones of relief supplies that includes, Maize, Beans and Rice in a bid to cushion people from pangs of hunger ravaging the area due to extended droughts

The CS said it was time that the people of Nyanza worked closely with the current government in order to enjoy the fruits of the tax they always pay to the national kitty.

“We wants good roads to be done in this region, we want the healthcare of the people improved, clean water to reach every part of Migori and, mining activities to be modernised to produce good earnings rather than wasting time fighting the sitting government,” Owalo who was flunked at the meeting by several leaders from Luo Nyanza said.

He urged the youth and women from the region to apply for the newly launched Hustlers Fund, saying it has a good intention to improve the economy of Kenyans.

Meanwhile, many of the leaders from Nyanza who accompanied the CS at the forum took their time bashing former Prime Minister and ODM supremo, Raila Odinga, over his call for Kenyans to go to the streets in towns to demonstrate against the current government.

The leaders led by former Migori Governor, Okoth Obado, criticised Raila for being out to cause chaos in the country and have many Kenyans die for no apparent reasons.

Mr Obado ganged-up with former Rarieda Legislator (MP), Nicholas Gumbo, former Kisumu Senator Outa, Former Nyatike MP Edick Anyanga and the current Suba South MP Karolly Omondi to warn Raila to stop his immoral moves of constantly fighting sitting governments.

The group deemed as rebels, said Kenyans and especially those from the Luo community were tired of politically instigated demonstrations that only lead to deaths, injuries and destruction of properties.

“If at all our people will go to the streets this time round, let Raila and his children lead the race and we want to see him throw stones practically,” said Obado.

Their sentiments came in the wake of Raila’s urging of Kenyans to gather in Nairobi on Seventh and attend a parallel Jamhuri Day on December 12th to protest and protect the four ‘rebel’ commissioners at the Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC) from sacking.
