Bungoma all set for senatorial elections on December 8

All is set for the Bungoma Senatorial by-election, as all the materials for the crucial exercise that happens on December 8th have been received, says County IEBC returning officer Grace Rono said

Speaking at Bungoma County IEBC offices, Rono commended the aspirants for conducting peaceful campaigns asking them to ensure the same peace prevails during voting day.

The IEBC official said no aspirant is expected to be soliciting for votes from yesterday Tuesday 6th 2022, which was the official deadline for campaigning.

Rono noted that there will be 1,373 polling stations adding that the county tallying center will be at Mabanga Agricultural Training Center (ATC).

Constituency polling stations will be domiciled at Kapsokwony DEB primary school, Sirisia vocational training institute, Matili Technical training Institute, Kisiwa Technical training Institute, Bungoma North Vocational Training Institute, St. Antony primary school of the deaf, St. Mathews ACK primary school, Kibabii University and Kamatuni Parish.

“I’m very glad that all the eleven senatorial aspirants have shown up. We have trained them together with the agents,” she noted.

Rono dismissed claims by Julius Masinde, an independent aspirant that there are already marked ballot papers by one candidate, saying no papers had been marked.

“All the aspirants are here with me. If there is anything that needs my address I’m here. Let’s not cause unnecessary tension, allow the IEBC to do its job,” Rono added.
