Bungoma artist who supported President Ruto cries foul after missing nomination

A popular Bungoma based artist is crying foul after his name was struck out of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) nomination list for Member of County Assembly (MCA).

Speaking to the press in Webuye town yesterday, a disappointed David Zakari said he learnt that his name had been dropped and replaced with a nominee from Rift valley.

The list of proposed UDA nominated MCAs includes Rugut Angeline Chelagat, Kirui Eunice from Mt. Elgon and Sifuma Shillah, (DAP-K) nominated Florence Juma, Metrine Nangalama and Alice Kibaba.

Ford Kenya nominated Catherine Kituyi, Dorcas Nakhumicha, Linda Wekesa, Everlyne Wabwire, Metrine Nangila, Bridgit Lusike and Maurine Katika.

Zakari who was in 2015 gifted a vehicle by the then deputy president now President William Ruto has been instrumental in spearheading UDA campaigns in the Western region.

“I am very disillusioned after I learnt that I was shortchanged at the 11th hour,” he expressed, further appealing to the President to intervene and have his name back on the nomination list.

Zakari who was accompanied by a huge crowd cannot explain why his name was struck out and replaced with another person who is not even a voter in Bungoma County.
