Change attitude for stellar service delivery, Governor Badilisha.

Nyandarua Governor Dr. Moses Badilisha has challenged county employees to embrace a “work only” motto in his administration to boost development even as he banks on boards to deliver.

Badilisha who decried the ‘lost’ 10 years during which government officers lazed around instead of serving the citizenry, rallied his officers to a change of mindset for delivery.

He regretted that attitudes towards statecraft and public service were not favourable and promised to overhaul his chief officers.

“I will soon bring before the Assembly, names of nominated chief officers and hope to align departments for synergy and harmonized service delivery,” Badilisha added.

The governor is yet to table names of his nominees as county executive committee members, while chief officers’ slots have already been advertised.

Badilisha, who promised residents the right to participate into the affairs of the county, said ward-level economic forums and leadership council would be retained and their views given priority in county decisions.

On revenue collection, the county chief said he will establish a County revenue board to enable the county meet its’ local collection projections and hence deliver on projects.

“We will pay all genuine and verifiable pending bills as soon as the supplementary budget is approved. No single coin will go to what cannot be verified,” reiterated Badilisha citing the management of road equipment, that he promised to recover Sh450 million from a private contractor who had misused the World Bank-funded machinery.

Badilisha, who spoke a day after addressing the Assembly on Monday morning, stressed his commitment to delivering at least a flagship project in every sub county.

In his address to the assembly, Badilisha noted that hospital boards will be reconstituted and the 78 health facilities fully restocked.
