Cloudy conditions with occasional light rains expected in Kiambu

Kiambu County will for the next one week experience cold and cloudy conditions with occasional light rains mostly at the beginning of the forecast period and towards the weekend.

In the past week the County experienced occasional rains showers mostly at the beginning of the forecast period and heavy showers were experienced over most places.

Speaking while giving the weekly forecast, the County Director for Meteorological Department services Magdalene Gateri said that sunny intervals are expected over most days while foggy conditions are expected over a few places.

According to Gateri, intermittent cloudiness at times accompanied by light rains is expected in the mornings. Afternoon showers are likely to occur over a few places and nights are expected to be generally partly cloudy. Gateri also noted that showers may occur over a few places.

Gateri said that in high ground areas like Limuru, Kimende and Kikuyu, mornings and afternoons are expected to have sunny intervals while nights are expected to be partly cloudy.

In Gatundu South, Gateri noted that foggy conditions will be experienced in the mornings and urged residents especially those driving to be keen on the roads.

In the lower ground areas like Thika, Juja and Ruiru, she added mornings for the next seven days are expected to be cloudy while afternoons will experience sunny intervals.

Gateri noted that the maximum temperature likely to be experienced for the next few days are 24°C and a minimum of 10°C.

The Kenya Meteorological Department Outlook in the country rainfall is forecasted over several places in the Highlands West of the Rift valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central and South Rift valley as well as over a few locations in the highlands East of the Rift valley, Coast and North Western Kenya.

According to the Seasonal Weather Forecast (OND) 2022 the Outlook for October, November, December shows that it is likely that most areas will have a generally poor distribution of rainfall in both time and space.
