Exhibitors to grace regional Trade Fair.

At least 12 exhibitors from Uasin Gishu County have been selected to take part in the 22nd East African Community Trade Fair in Kampala Uganda popularly known as Jua Kali/Nguvu Kazi Exhibition.

The annual event that attracts the investors and innovators from the member’s states of the East African Community (EAC) is expected to run from 8th to 18th December 2022 brings together Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) organisations from the region.

The objective of the trade fair is to offer openings for opportunities and new market for local business community while bridging the respective knowledge and technological gaps between them and advancing the process of regional integration.

Speaking when flagging off the 12 county exhibitors, Eng. Martha Cheruto, County Executive Committee Member for trade, investment, Tourism Industrialization and Cooperatives reminded the selected exhibitors they represent the face of the country therefore must champion the interest of the cuntry.

“The county and my sector are committed to working towards promoting the Jua Kali industry and enterprise industry on local and international level and this will be achieved through value addition, textile and woodwork,” she stated.

She added that after a vigorous selection process, the 12 exhibitors were chosen to ensure that the image of the country is well represented through high-quality products and services.

The Acting Trade Chief Officer Kipleting Mengich further revealed that the biggest number of exhibitors from the Jua kali sector will be present in this year’s fair.

“With the support you get from the county, I therefore challenge you to raise your standards even higher to promote your products to be noticed by international markets’’, said Mengitch.

Isaac Lagat, the Acting Cooperative and Enterprise Development chief officer urged the exhibitors to take advantage of the chance and search for a network for their products, noting that doing so might enable them to export their goods across the nations of East Africa.
