Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has urged Kenyans living abroad to follow the example of those residing in Botswana, who are working to safeguard their welfare while away from home. Gachagua made these remarks during a visit to the High Commission in Gaborone, Botswana, on April 23, 2023. He also had a one-on-one session with Kenyans under the leadership of Ambassador Mohamed Shidiye and expressed his gratitude to Shidiye and his team for making his visit seamless and comfortable. Gachagua noted that Shidiye has done a great job of uniting Kenyans living in the country. During his meeting with Kenyans in Botswana, Gachagua picked up on some of their concerns, including double taxation in investment. He promised to take these concerns to the Cabinet for further deliberations and a decision.
