An unknown gang of five armed with crude weapons accessed Dubai Guest House in Nyamira town, where they robbed and injured guests who had checked in to spend their night.
Nyamira South Sub-County Police Commander (SCPC), Moses Kirong’, confirming the incident said the hotel Manager Cynthia Kerubo, made a distress call to Police Station at around 2:00 pm, Monday, morning informing them about the attack by a gang of five.
“Our officers accompanied with the security team responded to the distress call, where we established that the gang stole electronic gadgets and cash money belonging to the guests, approximately valued at Sh.200,000,” said the Police Commander.
“The gang further injured four of the guests, who were rushed to Nyamira Referral Hospital for treatment,” the officer confirmed.
He said they are conducting thorough investigations and pursuing the gang, further assuring residents to remain calm, because the situation was under control.
Kirong’ further urged area residents to report crime incidents immediately they happen, with a view to maintaining a secure environment, especially during this electioneering period.
