Governorship case-withdrawal by Ole Kenta appreciated

Narok leaders have lauded former gubernatorial aspirant Moitalel Ole Kenta for withdrawing a petition he had filed challenging the validity of gubernatorial election results in the last elections.

Narok County Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) Bishop John Mpurkoi said the move will enhance development in the county as all the residents will concentrate in developing the county.

Mpurkoi said the withdrawal of the case does not mean that Ole Kenta was a weak leader but shows he is a strong leader who meant well for the society.

“We want the elected governor Patrick Ole Ntutu to have enough time to develop this county. We do not wish that at the end of five years he shifts blame to the prolonged court case for not developing the county,” said Bishop Mpurkoi.

He called upon former Narok governor Samuel Tunai to also withdraw a case he has filed challenging the election of Senator Ledama Ole Kina so that the elected leaders can concentrate in developing the county.

Mpurkoi who spoke to KNA at his office asked all the elected leaders to fulfil the promises they made to the residents before they were elected into office.

“There is no more time to waste campaigning and politicking. We want to come together to develop our county so that we raise the living standards for our people. I ask everyone to support the elected leaders,” said the spiritual leader.

Narok Chamber of Commerce Chairman David Mpatiany also commended former gubernatorial candidate and Narok North MP Ole Kenta for the bold move he made to withdraw the case challenging the gubernatorial elections.

Mpatiany said the move will bring peace, cohesion and integration in the county as everybody will concentrate in building the county.

“The investors will feel free in investing in our county and businesses will flourish because we would not have wrangles in leadership. This is what we want because the campaign season is now over,” said Mpatiany.

In the recent concluded elections, Governor Ole Ntutu of UDA garnered 158, 100 votes against Ole Kenta got 148, 200.
