Members of the Homa Bay County Assembly (MCAs) have put in place a committee to plan for the success of Governor Gladys Wanga’s tournament that is scheduled to take place in mid-November.
The tournament’s main purpose is to nurture the talents of the young people in Homa Bay County.
The member of Kakelo- Kokwany ward, Barry Paul was elected chair of the committee in charge of sports and youth affairs in the county and would therefore oversee the success of the tournament.
The tournament will draw participants from Homa Bay County and will include volleyball and basketball. Governor Gladys Wanga had organized similar tournaments but for football only when she was the county’s Woman Representative
The tournament will include people with disabilities to ensure the inclusivity of all the county residents.
The MCAs resolved that they would all take part in the tournament by attending as well as bringing awards to ensure that the tournament would achieve its intended objective which is to nurture different talents within the county.
