Residents of Isinya Sub-County in Kajiado have protested the rising cases of insecurity incidences in the area.
The locals accused the police of laxity in containing runaway crime in the town which has resulted in the loss of lives and livestock.
According to Moses Piyianko, a business man in the town, the residents were now living in fear with businesses forced to close early due to insecurity.
Joseph Wanjala, a boda boda rider lamented that the thugs were also targeting them as they pretend to be passengers as night and end up attacking them and stealing their motorcycles.
On Wednesday morning, the bodies of two men killed under unclear circumstances were found in different parts of the town.
One of the men, a boda boda rider was attacked Tuesday night and killed by thugs who made away with his motorcycle.
The other deceased man, a watchman at a hotel in the town was killed by thugs who broke into the hotel late at night.
Some of the items stolen from the hotel were later recovered by police abandoned at a forest a few meters from the hotel.
Isinya Sub-County police commander, Ancient Kaloki confirmed the two incidences adding that investigations had already commenced and they were following up on crucial leads which would lead to the arrest of the suspects.
“We have opened investigations into the murder of the two men and we are following up on crucial leads that will lead to the arrest of the suspects,” he said.
The bodies of the two men were moved to the Kajiado Referral Hospital awaiting a postmortem.
Isinya Member of County Assembly Joshua Oluwasa, demanded for the arrest of the criminals who have been theorizing the residents and called on the police to increase night patrols in the town.
He further demanded for the arrest of cattle rustlers who have made away with hundreds of livestock in the area in the recent past.
