Judicial Service Commission committed to expedite justice

The Judicial Service Commission has affirmed the Judiciary’s commitment to expediting justice to residents of Nyamira by expanding their mandate scope of operation in all its 5 sub counties.

Ms. Evalyne Olwande, a team leader for officers from the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) headquarters told the press that they want to have a one-on-one engagement with their clients who are members of the public to understand how best they can efficiently serve them.

“We are visiting our courts countrywide to have a one-on-one engagement with members of the public to know problems they encounter when seeking for services at the court. We equally want to understand our officer’s experience while serving our people. To know successes, they have made and celebrate with them at the same time assist them solve challenges they encounter while executing their duties,” Ms. Olwande said.

She assured that JSC is committed to ensuring that there are operational magistrate’s courts in all the five sub counties and they want to start serious engagements with the county government to see how that plan will come to fruition and explore other avenues for wananchi to access justice.

“According to JSC Act, we ought to have a magistrate’s court in all sub counties and a High Court in all counties a mandate we have intentions of fulfilling this core mandate with time to efficiently offer justice services to wananchi, JSC is pulled back by insufficient human and financial resources to sustain operation of those courts. We are working progressively prioritising those areas with urgent need for a court and the two in Nyamira which were gazetted and launched though not operationalised yet have not escaped our attention,” the JSC officer assured.

Nyamira Governor, Amos Nyaribo who hosted the team said they were willing to collaborate so that the common mwananchi gets good service when accessing justice.
