The Kericho Members of County Assembly (MCAs) have unanimously approved the twelve Chief Officers (COs) nominated by the area Governor Dr. Eric Mutai.
The newly approved Chief Officers include; Rosemary Chelangat (Finance), David Kurgat (Economic Planning), Willy Rop (Agriculture), Michael Bett (Livestock and Cooperative management), Wesley Koech (Water, Environment, Energy, Forestry, and Natural Resources), Japhet Cheruiyot (Health Services), Richard Tonui (Education, Libraries Culture and Social Services).
Others include Geoffrey Korir (Information, E-Government, and Youth,), Alphonse Rotich (Land, Housing, and Physical Planning), Anderson Terer (Public Works, Roads, and Transport), Betsy Chebet (Public Service Management), and Gilbert Kipkurui Bett (Trade, Industrialization, Cooperative Management, Tourism, and Wildlife).
In a meeting today morning at his office, Governor Mutai congratulated the new appointees to the county Executive and urged them to execute their mandate with excellence and integrity.
“With the conclusion of vetting and subsequent approval of all the Chief Officers nominees by the county Assembly of Kericho, our COs officially assume office and I wish them the very best as they begin a new chapter in the Public Service,” Mutai
The governor also termed the approval of the Chief Officers as an endorsement of their eligibility and competence to serve in their designated positions.
“The addition of the twelve new officers in the County Executive adds impetus to our desire to serve the people of Kericho County and this marks the beginning of work,” added Mutai.
Among the approved Chief Officers is Geoffrey Korir who is a Person Living with Disability (PWD) whose rise to the CO position has brought joy and appreciation from the PWD community in Kericho County.
