Homa-Bay County Woman Representative, Gladys Wanga, has dismissed the choice of Rigathi Gachagua, as the running mate for Deputy President William Ruto.
Wanga claimed that Ruto and Gachagua were a combination of corruption tainted leaders which Kenyan should reject at the ballot.
The sentiments were also echoed by Homa-Bay Senator, Moses Kajwang, who claimed the duo were unfit to lead the Country.
They urged Kenyans to reject them at the ballot, saying they were likely to reverse the country’s economic development.
Speaking Sunday during a campaign rally in Mbita town, Wanga said Gachagua had a history of suspect financial dealings.
“The choice of Gachagua is a clear indication that the agenda of Kenya
Kwanza outfit doesn’t support ordinary Kenyans. Kenya Kwanza leaders
have integrity issues,” she said.
Senator Kajwang alleged his Tharaka Nithi counterpart, Kithure Kindiki, was
duped to join Tanga Tanga group with a promise of being made running
mate.
They were accompanied by former Kasipul MP Oyugi Magwanga and ODM Homa Bay Woman Representative nominee, Joyce Osogo.
Kajwang claimed the choice of Gachagua as Ruto’s running mate has
indicated that the hustlers have been shortchanged.
“Ruto-Gachagua ticket will take the Country to the wrong direction, especially in the fight against corruption. They misled Kindiki to desert President Uhuru Kenyatta,” Kajwang said.
Magwanga said the current economic challenges facing the citizens
cannot be addressed by Ruto and Gachagua.
“They have failed President Uhuru Kenyatta in building the economy. I
doubt if they have the capacity to improve the country’s economic
fortunes,” Magwanga said.
