Some 27 Competency-based Curriculum (CBC) classes in Migori county have been handed over to schools’ management in readiness for the grade Six entrance next year.
The Sub County Director of Education in Suna Migori Wilson Amollo said that more classes are set to be completed before the general election as per the requirements from the Ministry of Education.
Amollo noted that so far the Sub Counties of Suna and Ntimaru in Kuria East have completed their CBC classes in record time awaiting their usage next year.
He said that the remaining Sub Counties were at the roofing stage and that the contractors were doing their best to ensure those classes are completed before the general election.
“So far our county is at 33 percent on the phase two project that has already been completed and handed over. I am optimistic that a few of the remaining classes will be completed before the election”, said Amollo.
Amollo said that the County was allocated 81 CBC classes for the Phase Two Project that started in May this year. The biggest beneficiary of the phase two project was Uriri Sub County, which was allocated 15 CBC classes while the newly formed Sub County of Ntimaru was allocated two classes.
In late July this year, the Cabinet Secretary for Education Prof. George Magoha launched CBC classes in Suna Migori, where he applauded the efforts being done by contractors to ensure that majority of the classes are done before the general election.
Last year, during phase one of the project, Migori was awarded 205 classes, where Suna West was allocated the least with 17.
