Natembeya nominates former County boss to his cabinet

Trans Nzoia Governor Mr. George Natembeya has unveiled his County Executive nominees, which majorly comprises of technocrats.

In Governor Natembeya’s line up, which has been forwarded to the County Assembly, Busia County Commissioner Mr. Samson Otieno Ojwang will find his way back to the county after being nominated to the cabinet as CEC Pubic Service Management.

Before his move to Busia County in September this, Ojwang had served as Trans Nzoia CC for three years.

Meanwhile four women have been nominated to the County Executive Committee Member (CECM).

Mrs. Janerose Nasimiyu Mutama from Kiminini Sub County, has been nominated CEC Lands, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development docket.

The governor has nominated Mrs. Julie Kichwen Ruto from Cherangany Sub County to be in charge of Education and Technical Training department.

Ms. Phanice Naliaka Khatundi from Trans Nzoia West will be in charge of the Agriculture, Irrigation, Livestock and fisheries docket, while Mrs. Truphosa Irene Awour Otwala is slated for the County Secretary position.

Other nominees are Mr. Bonface Wanyonyi Cosmas (Finance and Economic Planning), Dr. Pepela Wanjala (Health Services and Sanitation). Wanjala holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.

The lucrative Public Works, Transport and Energy docket will be headed by Mr. Jackson Wanyungu Amboka.

An airline mogul and who also flies the East African airlines, Mr. Stanley Kirui from Kwanza Sun County has been nominated as CEC for Trade, Industrialization, Tourism and Cooperative Development.

The 28-year-old Ms. Chanella Kittony, daughter to Nairobi Stock Exchange Chairperson Kiprono Kittony is to be in charge of the Gender, Youth, Sports and Culture docket, while retired high school Principal Mr. Patrick Gacheru was named for the water, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change ministry.
