Ntutu inspects county vehicles

Narok Governor Patrick Ntutu has inspected 224 vehicles belonging to the County government in an exercise aimed at fast-tracking development in the area.

The vehicles were lined up at Ole Ntimama stadium with the drivers on standby, as the governor moved from vehicle to vehicle inspecting the condition of the vehicles.

Ntutu admitted that some of the vehicles have mechanical problems, saying he will organize with the National Youth Service (NYS) department to repair all the broken vehicles at a cheaper price.

“I have worked in the civil service before and I know that NYS has some of the best mechanics in the country who repair vehicles at a cheaper price. We want all county vehicles to be well maintained so as to deliver services to the residents,” he said.

The second Narok governor who took after first county governor Samuel Tunai said he had asked the transport department to bring all the moveable machinery so that he could know what kind of vehicles the county owned.

“I have personally inspected all the vehicles because I want to understand what machinery we have and what we need to add, so that we can deliver quality services to wananchi,” he said.

Ntutu who was accompanied by all the County Executive Committee Members and a host of Members of County Assembly said his administration will put in place a functional garage where all the county vehicles will be serviced and repaired.

“I have a plan to strengthen the transport sector so that we can have easy access to all the parts of the county. This will enable us to give quality services to the residents,” he reiterated.

The governor who was elected on an UDA ticket said asked the county assembly to support him to implement his vision for the county, without putting into consideration their political affiliations.

“There are 19 MCAs from the Kenya Kwanza Alliance and 11 from the Azimio side. However, we have sat with them and agreed to work together for the good of the people,” reiterated the governor.

The MCAs present promised to put their political differences aside and support the governor to deliver on his campaign promises to the area residents.
