Police impound bhang from fleeing traffickers

Police acting on a tip-off have impounded a motorcycle with a sack of bhang abandoned by two men ferrying the illegal drug

The incident happened on Wednesday along Magwanga road in Rachuonyo south sub county at around 1:00 pm.

Confirming the incident, Kosele Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Joseph Maswi said police were mobilised and rushed to the said road after they received information that two people on a boda boda were seen carrying suspicion items. He said the officers managed to intercept the motorcycle.

“Two men who were on the motorcycle after sensing the presence of police escaped on foot but left behind their motor bike registration number KMCG 460 H with the luggage in a sack intact,” he said

Maswi explained that when police opened the luggage they discovered 59 rolls of bhang stuffed in a sack weighing 40 kilograms.

He said the motorcycle was impounded and towed to the Kosele police station to serve as an exhibit as they trace the owner.
