Scottish artist Mark Stoddart is auctioning a rare silver sculpture valued at around Ksh3
million (approximately £20,000) to raise funds for a school in Kenya.
The school will focus on vocational training in skills such as dressmaking, drawing,
painting, singing, beading, tapestry, and hairdressing.
Stoddart hopes to begin construction before the 2023 academic year and for the school
to offer boarding services for students who travel from far.
He has previously collaborated with the Kenya Dyslexia Organization to build a new
school for the New RareGem Talent School in Nairobi.
His pieces have been bought by other artists and political leaders, and they can retail for
as much as Ksh4 million.
