Sh8 million beautification, sanitation project for Ngong bus park

Ngong residents and traders are set to benefit from a beautification and sanitation project including building of public toilets and planting trees at the Ngong bus park.

The program, being implemented by the Ngong municipality is estimated to cost Sh 8 million.

The construction of the public toilets, which is part of the beautification project, is set to begin in a week’s time, according to the Municipality manager David Kobaai.

“The project ought to have started by now, and it will only take one month. We also want to see more trees within the park, aimed at transforming the facility,” said Kobaai.

“Currently we are implementing the last program for the year 2021/22, under the Kenya Urban Support Program and we want to do the beautification of the park and also build public toilets,” he added

Kobaai added that the project will also include a biodigester to enable recycling of water for sanitation.

At the same time, taxi drivers currently occupying the space where the toilets are to be built, will have to be relocated to another location.

The public toilets will serve both residents and traders who frequent the bus park.
