Residents of Itembe Sub-Location in Chepalungu Sub County Wednesday night managed to arrest a suspected serial rapist who had gone at large early this year.
Dominic Bii was said to have raped several women at Kapkwen area, with the latest case happening on February 2022, before going underground after brandishing a sword when arrest attempts were made by the locals.
According to area Senior Assistant Chief Samson Ngetich, the suspect was cornered by Nyumba Kumi members after they were alerted by the locals that he had re-surfaced.
Ngetich said the suspect was armed with a sword at the time but that he was overpowered before he was handed over to the police.
In a similar incident at Kyokong’ also in Chepalungu, Bomet detectives are trailing a suspect only known as Silas who is suspected to have sodomised a middle aged man.
The suspect is said to have waylaid the victim Tuesday night who was then in a drunken stupor and dragged him to his house nearby where he held the victim for close to 10 hours.
The victim was said to have been tied to a bed before the act and that his attempts to raise alarm were futile as he was too weak to shout.
According to local witnesses, the victim’s frail groans were heard and that the fugitive went missing before the victim was rescued and rushed to Longisa County Referral Hospital for treatment.
