The Service Delivery and Advisory Unit team yesterday toured Khwisero Sub County to inspect development projects in the area.
Led by Chief Officer Phitalis Masakhwe, the officers kicked off the inspection tour at Khwisero Sub County headquarters where he had a brief meeting with Head of Departments.
The heads lamented about inadequate staff and lack of enough resources to undertake their duties diligently however the chief officer promised to address their grievances in time before Governor Wycliffe Oparanya’s term come to an end.
He insisted on discipline while on duty and told the officers to stop wasting time on their phones at the expense of serving the public.
The Chief Officer later led the team in inspecting several development projects including Dudi open-air Market in Kisa West Ward which is 90 per cent complete and the electricity connection is ongoing while the drainage System and gate are incomplete.
Masakhwe also visited Kisa West Ward Admin office at Bama market and ended the day-long programme at Khwisero where they inspected stalled Khwisero Sub County office which was started in 2020 and is now 25 per cent complete.
Masakhwe who was accompanied by Sub County Administrator Henry Mbayaki, Kisa Ward Administrator Godfrey Mbayi, and Eng. Walter Waswa from Public Works Department among other officers said the contractor has abandoned the site and was being pursued by the Chief Officer Public Service.
