Makueni County Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Director Mr. Alex Cheruiyot has cautioned unsuspecting teachers against being defrauded during the ongoing teacher recruitment.
While saying no case has been reported, Cheruiyot noted that it was a time like this when swindlers come out and promise the unsuspecting teachers of help which they cannot offer.
In this regard, the director urged the teachers to either visit TSC offices or website to get clarification of any issue they may have pertaining to recruitment to avoid being conned.
“There is no case reported yet but this information is geared towards cautioning our tutors not to fall into the trap of being swindled during this period of recruitment,” said Cheruiyot while speaking to KNA in his Wote office on Wednesday.
Consequently, the director revealed that they were going to recruit 188 and 291 teachers both for secondary and primary schools in the county during this period of recruitment.
On fees, he warned secondary school principals of dire consequences if they send students home due to failure to pay fees.
“It is not fair for principals to send children home for lack of paying fees. We are recovering from corona, so students should not be sent home for any reason,” he warned.
