Homa Bay Central ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Monoflorita Ondiek has said that village elders will be receiving monthly stipends of not less than Sh 5000 if the House approves the County Development Plan.
She said that they had made a proposal in the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) that will allow the government to allocate money in ensuring that village elders are remunerated to boost their working morale.
“Village elders are a special unit in the government as they are the first administration people visit before other administration units. Your hard work has encouraged us to make a proposal on your behalf in the CIDP,” she said.
The MCA encouraged village elders to work hard and with determination in ensuring that their presence is felt. She urged the residents to register new companies to give them a chance to do business as well as to facilitate development in the county.
“Anything in the name of a project will be done by the residents and if there is need for road construction or supplies then we will be able to provide. It would be better if all our businesses are done within the county,” she said.
The MCA promised that she will fulfil all the pledges she had made during her campaigns including delivery of proposals.
“I would like to tell you that I have already started my duty as the MCA, I want to promise my people that I will ensure that I fulfill all the promises I made during the campaigning period,” she said.
Ondiek further encouraged the people of Homa Bay Central to work hand in hand with her in ensuring that the ward is developed.
