Migori Governor Dr. Ochilo Ayacko has asked the County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) to work closely with the Cabinet Secretaries to fast truck developmental agenda at the county level.
Ochilo who officiated the swearing-in of five CECMs and 15 Chief Officers noted that the county and the national government cannot work in isolation.
He encouraged the CECMSs to share ideas and work plans with the national government officers for the mutual benefit of both the county and national socio-economic development.
Ochilo assured the newly appointed county staff that the Executive, County Service Board and the County Assembly will work closely and give the necessary support and direction needed to facilitate the effectiveness of the office holders.
He asked the CECMs to honour summons from the County Assembly when called upon to appear before various county assembly committees.
“We want our CECMs to table executed county developmental agendas, when appearing before the County assembly committees rather than being summoned because of disciplinary issues,” noted Ochilo.
The Governor said that the county executive staff was now complete and the newly appointed officials should move with speed to discharge their rightful mandate to the Migori residents.
He asked the county residents to give the newly appointed staff time to attend to their roles and responsibilities assigned to them for effective developmental agendas.
Three women were appointed as CECMs from a total of 11 while four Chief Officers made it to the list of 15 slightly falling short of the two-thirds gender rule.
