NRG Radio Presenter Mwalimu Rachel Moves to Uganda to Train Talents at New Station

NRG Radio presenter Mwalimu Rachel has moved to Uganda to take up a trainer’s role
at a new station in the country’s capital, Kampala.
The new radio station, NRG Radio Uganda 106.5 FM, went live on Wednesday, January
18, with Rachel tasked to make sure the presenters were equipped with the requisite
knowledge to deliver exceptionally well on air.

In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Rachel was officiating the new station as she made the
first live announcement, saying, “A new baby is born it took a team effort and a lot of
hard work, Hello NRG Radio Uganda 106.5 FM.”

Rachel revealed that she had been a little hesitant to take on the training role, but
decided to take the challenge with humility and a lot of prayers.
“The training is not easy, they are confident in their skill set but bringing it up on the
microphone was the only challenge. When I was called to train I doubted myself but I
encouraged myself since I have been a presenter for fifteen years,” she said.

In addition to Rachel, Kenyan presenter Sean Preezy also left for the Ugandan outfit,
noting, “Been a great ride with you NRG Radio Kenya. Love you all forever. Goodbye
Kenya.”

The new station in Uganda maintained the brand’s theme colours of Red, White and
Black, as well as its state-of-the-art radio equipment that allows fans to stream
audiovisual content.

NRG Radio has been making waves in the digital space, giving competitors a run for
their money as the scramble for control of airwaves intensifies. The station first went on
air in March 2018 at Almont Park in Westlands along Church Road, and later moved to
the iconic Le Mac Tower in February 2021. In April 13, 2022 Former Nation FM
Journalist, Maqbul Mohamed, was appointed the head of the radio.
