The UAE has announced a significant visa change for all nationalities.

The UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has launched a new service that allows visitors to extend the validity of all types of visas issued to them for 60 days through its smart services.

However, according to Gulf Today, citing the ICP, this service can only be used once. “They can only do this before entering the country,” ICP stated.

The fee to extend the validity of a visa is reportedly AED200, which includes AED100 for smart services, AED50 for the application form, and AED50 for the authority and electronic services provided to customers.

The applicant’s passport must be valid for at least three months, and he or she must not be in the UAE for the entry permit to be issued, according to the ICP, who added that applicants can extend the validity through the authority’s official website and its smart application using the UAE PASS or username.

According to the ICP, a confirmation email for extending a visa will be sent to the registered ID.

Applicants can also seek assistance from customer happiness centers and ICP-approved typing centers.

If the application contains missing or incomplete data, the request will be declined electronically 30 days after it is returned if the applicant does not complete the required details during this time.

“Furthermore, it will be declined, if it is returned three times due to incomplete data or documents. If the request is declined, the fees and financial guarantees (if any) are refundable,” according to the report.

“The fees are refunded through the credit card within a period not exceeding six months from the date of submitting the application,” the ICP said, adding that the rules and regulations are subject to change without notice.
