A 23 year girl committed suicide by hanging herself on a tree at her home in Nzaui location in Nzaui Sub-county on Sunday morning.
The deceased, identified as Catherine Kanini Mwanzou, a form four student at Kwakukui Secondary School, hanged herself on the tree using a rope at round 7a.m. on Sunday morning.
“The lifeless body of the deceased was found dangling on a tree with a rope tied on her neck. The motive of the incident is yet to be established fully. No suicide note was left behind,” said Makueni County Police Commander Joseph Ole Naipeyan on Sunday when he confirmed the incident to KNA.
The county boss said that Nzaui location chief reported the incident to the police while adding that the body of the deceased was taken to Makindu Sub-county hospital for preservation awaiting autopsy.
