Grief has engulfed Mwamba estate in Narok town after a body of an unknown adult was found dangling on a tree beside the road.
Narok County Police Commander Kizito Mutoro said the incident was reported by members of the public who crowded to witness the unusual incident.
He confirmed that there was no suicidal note left by the deceased and the police have launched investigations to ascertain the cause of death.
“The police visited the scene and found a body of an unknown African male aged approximately 40 years old tied around the neck with a sisal rope. The scene was photographed by crime personnel,” said Mutoro.
He confirmed that there were no physical injuries on the body which was moved to Narok County Referral Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Those who have lost their loved ones have been asked to visit the morgue so as to help identify the body.
The police boss lamented of increasing cases of suicide that mostly involve young people calling on people who are depressed to seek guidance from responsible citizens so they could be guided instead of committing suicide.
“Instead of committing suicide, seek counseling from religious leaders, professional counsellors, government officers or trusted relatives who are in a position of guiding you,” said Mutoro.
