CBC Classes launched

Nyandarua North Sub-County Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) Implementation Committee has launched CBC classes in five public secondary schools in Ndaragwa Constituency.

The committee, led by the Deputy County Commissioner, Walter Ngaira, was tasked to ensure that the classrooms were built and ready for use by the first lot of junior secondary school students.

“I can confirm that the classrooms are fully completed and ready to receive the CBC students to learn in a conducive environment,” said Ngaira.

On his part, Ndaragwa Sub- County Education Officer Justus Musyoka said that he was aware of the double intake and that is why they did the classrooms on time.

He said the classes will ensure the students are well accommodated, while urging school principals to encourage their students to work hard and improve on their grades now that requisite infrastructure was in place.

“We thank the National Government through the Ministry of Education for setting aside funds to construct the classrooms. We will be having double intake of students next year and this initiative will see to it that all of them are accommodated,” said Musyoka.

The committee also took their time to encourage the students to work hard so that they excel in their final exams and to pursue the various careers of choice.

Nyandarua County Information Officer, Anne Sabuni who was part of the committee lauded the students and encouraged them to work hard to achieve their dreams.

“I want to encourage students, who may wish to pursue a future career in journalism, which is a very rewarding profession both locally and beyond the borders that your dreams are valid,” said Sabuni.

On their part, the students lauded the CBC program saying they were ready to welcome both the regular form ones and junior secondary students come January.

The five schools where the classrooms were launched include St Mary’s Aberdare Secondary, Uruku Secondary, Murichu Secondary, Aberdare Secondary and Dedan Kimathi Secondary Schools.
