Nyandarua County government has advertised vacant positions of County Executive Committee members, with Governor Moses Badilisha keen on working with like-minded persons.
Among the requirements for the 10 CECM jobs is adequate knowledge of the current government’s manifesto that he hopes will deliver Nyandarua towards its much desired heights of development.
In the local dailies today, the county also sought to fill the position of the County Secretary that has for two years now been held by Finance Chief Officer Muigai Wainaina in an acting capacity.
Wainaina, having assumed the chairperson of Assumption of the office of Governor Committee, handed over the instruments of power to Badilisha after former governor Francis Kimemia failed to turn up for Badilisha’s inauguration last week.
“For appointment to the CECM post a candidate must have knowledge, experience and distinguished career of not less than five years in the relevant field as well as be committed to the achievement of the county’s missions and goals,” read in part the advertisement, requiring the applicants not to be holders of other state or public office.
The applicants will also seek clearances from the Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commission (EACC), Kenya Revenue Authority and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations among others before submitting their applications by September 13, 2022.
Governor Badilisha and his deputy Mathara Mwangi, on Tuesday held a closed door meeting with Kimemia’s Executives, with a number said to be seeking clearance to apply for the posts.
The County Attorney’s slot has also been advertised after the occupant Anne Githinji, resigned to contest in Kirinyaga County.
Nyandarua joins its peers, Nakuru, Elgeyo Marakwet, Vihiga, Kericho, Samburu among others across the country, who have also advertised the senior positions, reserved for governor’s appointment.
