The CC speaking at the event at Kambirwa market urged the residents to work hand in hand with the new officers so as to enjoy the national government services they bring closer to the people.

“These new assistant chiefs are the representatives of the president at the grass root level and you should therefore work closely with them for the betterment of your society,” he said,

Addressing the assistant chiefs, he urged them to serve the people diligently and without favour so that they can build the people’s confidence in them.

Ngumo urged the youth and women not to shy away from applying for such positions when advertised saying there are still vacancies that need to be filled.

Meanwhile, Karuku also advised all area residents to maintain peace during the forthcoming general election and tolerate each other’s different inclinations reminding them life will continue after elections.

“Do not hate your neighbours because they support a different candidate and forget it is the same neighbours who can help you in your time of need,” Ngumo said

On his part, Murang’a county police commander, Ali Nuno, underscored the CC’s words and cautioned the youth against involvement in any violence motivated by politics

Nuno also asserted that the police will offer the necessary support and protection to female aspirants to ensure there were no cases of harassment or intimidation during and after the general election.
