Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) inspectors and Multichoice Kenya officers raided Kilua Beach Resort at the coastal town of Mombasa and dismantled equipment used to illegally stream TV content. The police also made arrests at the beach hotel while confiscating 16 decoders and other contrivances used for distributing infringed DSTV signal.
In a statement through its Twitter social media account KECOBO said the suspects involved will be arraigned before court.
Among the arrested was one individual who was selling internet streaming set top boxes (STBs) and pirate login credentials that enabled customers to illegally access premium of EPL, LaLiga, UEFA and CNN on beIN Sports and Sky Sports platforms.
