A newly appointed County attorney for Nyamira takes the oath of office.
Advocate Erastus Orina’s swearing in ceremony was presided over by Nyamira Law courts Chief Magistrate, William Kemei as stipulated by the constitution of Kenya under Act 14 of 2020.
Nyamira Governor, Amos Nyaribo who was part of those witnessing his swearing in ceremony congratulated Orina saying he was the best choice from the many who showed interest for the seat and he expected him to deliver his duties as is required of him by law and the people of Nyamira.
“There were many applicants for this post but with your professional credentials, extensive job experience as a lawyer and advocate of the High court you topped. I’m confident that you will execute your legal mandate as per the requirements of the people of Nyamira and I’m wishing you all the best,” Nyaribo gave his congratulatory remarks.
The chief magistrate also congratulated Orina and wished him well in his endeavours and encouraged him to serve efficiently and justly to ensure he leaves a positive mark by the end of his tenure of service.
The just sworn in attorney promised that he will work indiscriminately with the government of the day and all relevant stakeholders to ensure that Nyamira County is justly served in all its legal matters.
The County attorney is the principal legal advisor of the county government and its entire executive team.
He equally represents the county in court or any other legal proceedings and helps in negotiating agreements for the county further in even drafting, scrutinizing and interpreting documents on behalf of the county executive and its agencies amongst other responsibilities with legal implications.
Orina, who is an advocate of the High court of Kenya, is the immediate former chairman of Law society of Kenya for South Rift region and the current chair at Kericho Golf club, will serve as Nyamira County attorney for a period of six years as stipulated in law.
