Residents enjoy MyGov publication

West Pokot residents who normally have access to the MyGov free circulation publication have commended the weekly edition saying it has given them reliable updates on government projects and communication across the country.

They mentioned to KNA that the free soft copy reaches them every Tuesday and they spent a few of their bundles to have access to it keeping them updated.

They said the publication gives them accurate information especially regarding government advertisements on available job vacancies hence reduced risks of falling prey to fake job advertisements that do rounds on social media.

“Once I get a copy of the publication, I always share with my friends so that they can have a read. It is cost effective since once downloaded it can be shared and stored on my smartphone,” said Charles Lokorio, a resident.

Lokorio said he normally receives the copy every week from one of his local chiefs where they share a common WhatsApp group under a Nyumba kumi arrangement.

He revealed that the publication has been so handy in updating the youth who are looking for government jobs besides also getting updated on the government projects being implemented.

“Most of the youth especially in remote areas have no access to the print media. They also lack enough finances to surf on websites hence the downloadable softcopy format is ideal for them,” added Lokorio.

Kapenguria Assistant County Commissioner Ruth Wachira said her administration colleagues are always on her neck every Tuesday wanting a copy of the publication via WhatsApp.
