Top finance docket leadership in Embu County sent on compulsory leave

Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire has sent the top leadership of Embu County Revenue Authority (ECRA) and Embu Level 5 Hospital on compulsory leave.

The move comes a few days after the Governor formed a 100-days’ delivery service taskforce mandated with the task of coming up with proposals on how to enhance timely and quality service delivery in public service.

She said the move would facilitate carrying out a forensic audit of ECRA by the taskforce with a view to streamlining revenue collection.

“Total refurbishment of the finance docket will ensure optimal levels of revenue collection and enhanced service delivery,” the Governor noted in her memo released on Wednesday afternoon.

Those affected include ECRA CEO Henry Muriuki, Deputy CEO Evelyne Kimuli, Revenue Officers Jesse Mwangi, Jonathan Kiringa, Dorothy Karimi, Irene Syotwili and John Murithi as well as Embu Level 5 Hospital CEO Simon Kariuki.

She continued, “while on leave, the officers will not be allowed access to any Government premises or offices unless with permission.”
