Youth Urged to Explore Online Job Opportunities

Youths in Busia County have been urged to engage positively online in order to create employment opportunities for themselves and help reduce the high rate of youth unrest resulting from rampant unemployment.

Speaking to the press during the launch of free public WIFI at Burumba dispensary, Busia sub county, Matayos constituency Parliamentary seat candidate Zilpah Bett urged the youth to find other means of employment saying this will cushion them from being misused by politicians.

“Let us use the online platform constructively to develop ourselves. Through the internet one can become a skilled website developer, do online writing jobs as well as become consultants,” said Bett, while promising to set up a library and a computer learning centre to educate the youth.

“We will create centers for teaching the youth on website development, which will enable them reach prospective employers more easily,” she said.

The aspirant appealed to the youth to use public WIFI to access online jobs saying that it will help them become more productive.

The youth, set to benefit of the launch said purchasing bundles was costly, therefore the initiative will help them access jobs through internet platforms.
