Youths Begin Peace Walk From Eldoret to Mombasa

A team of young people dubbed ‘Vijana Bila Ukabila’ have embarked on a Peace and Cohesion walk from Eldoret to Mombasa to thank Kenyans for conducting ‘Election Bila Noma’.

The team began their journey on November 16, 2022 in Eldoret to Mombasa in solidarity with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC).

Speaking Monday during the flag off event at Nyayo House entrance parking area, Nairobi Regional Commissioner’s Personal Assistant (P.A) David Gitonga lauded the youths for embracing peace before, during and after elections.

“The young people have been very vocal in ensuring that they spread the gospel of one Kenya, one people, one country,” he lauded.

He said that the State has been responsible for ensuring there is peace in the region and some of the people they have been collaborating with are the young people ‘Vijana Bila Ukabila’.

Mr Gitonga who is also a Senior Deputy County Commissioner praised Kenyans for conducting themselves in a peaceful and mature manner which demonstrated to the world that they can be able to manage their political affairs without any violence.

He at the same time acknowledge the support of the NCIC, noting that the commission has been very vocal in advocating for peaceful coexistence besides supporting all peace crusaders across the country to ensure they spread the gospel of peace within the region.
