The Government through the department of Lands has issued 2, 660 title deeds to residents of Leshuta and Oloolturot group launches in Narok County.
Speaking during the distribution exercise at Mosiro area, the Environment Cabinet Secretary (CS), Keriako Tobiko, urged residents to use the document to boost them economically, warning them of careless sale of land.
“All family members should be involved in any sale of land. Both parents should sit down with their adult children and consult widely before taking the decision to sell a piece of land,” he advised.
The CS directed the Department of Lands, to resolve issues surrounding the Olosogon and Ntulele adjudication sections so that they too can be issued with title deeds in two weeks’ time.
While praising the government for issuing the title deeds, the CS revealed that the government is committed to distribute over one million title deeds country wide before the August general elections.
He asked residents to make the right decision on the voting day and elect leaders who have a credible track record who will grow the economy of the county and country at large.
The CS who drummed up support for the Azimio La Umoja team asked the residents to uphold peace during this electioneering season.
Narok County Commissioner, Isaac Masinde, on his part asked residents to protect all the land reserved for public utilities by reporting attempts to grab the said parcels of land to his office.
Masinde revealed that the National Government had implemented projects totaling over Sh. 21 billion in the county since devolution.
He reiterated that the government will provide relief food to the drought-stricken area asking the chiefs to identify all the families that are affected by ongoing drought in parts of the county.
On primary to secondary school transition, the CC reported that the county had achieved 98 per cent transition thanking the residents for working with the government to enroll children in school.
Others present included the security team led by Narok County Commander, John Kizito, Mosiro Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA), Salankat Ole Nchoe, land officials and a number of candidates vying in the August polls.
