Kirinyaga County has recorded a higher number of female students sitting for this year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam compared to male students.
There are 7,202 female and 6,365 male students, and one of them will be sitting for the exam at the Kerugoya County referral hospital due to illness.
Kirinyaga County TSC director, Isabella Iregi, disclosed this while opening the exam containers at 7 a.m. on Tuesday where they were later distributed to forty centers across Kirinyaga Central Constituency, saying that since the practical exams were successful, the monitoring team hopes the same will happen in the remaining exam papers.
